A striking example of mid-century West German art pottery, this 8" tall vase (4" wide) features a bold abstract glaze in vivid hues of crimson, amber, charcoal, and cream. Its flared rim and gently curved bottle shape are classic of the era, while the high-gloss finish and expressive drip patterning make it a true statement piece.
Stamped “West-Germany 586-20” on the base, this vase is believed to be made by Scheurich, one of the most prolific and iconic West German pottery manufacturers of the 20th century. The form number and glazing style are consistent with their known designs from the 1960s and 1970s, part of the celebrated Fat Lava movement.
A colourful and collectible piece of mid-century design, perfect as a standalone display or addition to a vintage ceramic collection.
